"When creating this piece, I focused on making the composition as strong as possible, using the space to draw the viewer in and create a real sense of place. The colour palette plays a big role in this, adding energy and emotion without overpowering the focus. Abstract form also brings movement into the painting, taking the viewer through the scene and adding balance to the piece, reinforcing the story of the moment. I really enjoyed bringing this piece to life, capturing Lando in an emotional race at a key point in his championship fight."
